Background

In my previous life, I worked in many corporate positions. Everything from technical support to customer service and a senior admin assistant for a large department. All of these jobs have helped me become a better business person. Lets face it, being in the pet care industry isn’t just as simple as caring for your pet. We need to be customer service oriented as well. After spending my career in the corporate world only to be laid off twice within a short period of time, I decided to follow my passion. For as far back as I can remember we always had pets in our home including dogs, cats, fish, the occasional bird that our dog would bring home, guinea pigs, etc. I cannot remember a time in my life that didn’t include loving an animal. I worked part time in a boarding kennel and also a doggie day care. I began dog walking and pet sitting part time in 2000 and decided to make dog walking and pet sitting a full time career in late 2010.

Opportunities

Owning this business has afforded me great opportunities. I am a nature lover, so being outside instead of behind a desk on a regular basis is extremely enjoyable. It has also allowed me flexibility during the day which a lot of 8-5 ‘ers do not have. Of course it lets me indulge in my love for animals as well. I get to spend time with all different types of pets. How great is that?

Volunteering in the Community

The majority of my personal time is spent volunteering for Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue (DVSHR) and doing lost dog search and rescue on my own. I have been blessed to be given this gift of returning lost pets to their owners!

I enjoy spending my spare time with my friends and family and of course my four legged friends Misty, Ellie and Dalton. I also enjoy reading, antique shops and of course anything animal related!

Training

I am CPR/FirstAid Certified through Pet Tech. The Pet Tech Saver Program is an in depth 8 hour course that is recommended by veterinarians. In October of 2014, I will have the pleasure of being trained again by Thom Somes who is the founder of the Pet Tech program. I belong to many pet sitting groups including a group of national pet sitting business owners. It is great to know that I can continue to learn so much with the help of other colleagues. I also enjoy taking Pet Nutritional classes as well as learning as much as I can about natural and holistic treatment for pets.

Commitment

I want you to know that my aspiration is to be the best pet sitting business in our service area. We want you to feel like family. We are committed to providing excellent customer service and quality care. We strive to be extremely knowledgeable in the pet care field. If we cannot answer a question that you may have that pertains to your pet, we will always do our best to lead you to a professional that can answer those questions for you. Of course I think it goes without saying that we will care for your pets as if they were a member of our own family. My promise to you is that I will always do my best to make sure that you, our client, are satisfied with your pet sitter/dog walker and our service. I am only a phone call or email away! We want you and your pets to be happy and content.

Dawn and I have developed a friendship through Siberian Husky Rescue and I admire her integrity, compassion, upstanding morals, and commitment to providing the best quality care. I know how important it is entrusting the care of your beloved companions to someone and I take my role very seriously. Offering quality, consistency, and attention to the needs of both pet and owner are my top priorities.

At a very young age I enjoyed riding my bike to a local family farm. I helped care for their 4 horses in exchange for the privilege of being able to spend time with these magnificent animals. My childhood gave me the opportunity to own fish, birds and rabbits. Later I was able to add cats and dogs to the mix! I have also cared for chickens, donkeys and horses and even one of my first paying jobs as an adult was working on a large horse farm. I am a volunteer with Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue, donate time at a local rescue shelter walking dogs, and have owned pets for the last 30 years. I treasure the bond with each and every one of them. Pets have such amazing personalities and are a very important part of the family. If you share this same sentiment then you can be sure to have a worry-free time when life keeps you away from your companions!

I am happy to be a part of Dawn the Pet Nanny. I will be dog walking, cat sitting and handling general overnight pet sitting for clients in the local Horsham and Hatboro areas. I currently work part time for the Hatboro-Horsham School District in before and after school care.

I love animals and have been enjoying walking and taking care of them when their owners are not available. I have owned rescued Greyhounds. I am glad I was able to give them the home that they deserve. I also enjoy spending time with my family and am a life long fan of the Phillies! I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great pets and their owners and am thrilled I have the opportunity to meet many more.

After working in the corporate world for 20+ years I’m thrilled to be part of Dawn the Pet Nanny. I will be dog walking/pet sitting in Warminster, Hatboro and the surrounding areas. I will provide lots of attention and love to your pets. I got my first dog sitting job when I was 11. My neighbors knew how much I loved their dog so they asked if I could take care of her while they were away. After that I was hooked. I was always quick to volunteer to watch friends and neighbors pets when they were away. I also have a soft spot for rescuing small animals like hamsters that are often overlooked. You may find me at times at a local SPCA adopting a small furry animal.

In my spare time I enjoy running, cookie decorating and doing artsy/crafty things.

My love for animals began at a very early age. As a child I was always looking to care for our neighbors’ animals whenever possible.

In 2015 I left my HR job of many years. I knew then that my dream job would be doing something that would allow me to spend time with animals.
I saw an ad for a job as a pet sitter with Dawn the Pet Nanny and applied immediately. Lucky for me, Dawn hired me to cover the Hatfield, Lansdale and surrounding areas.

We all know that our pets are beloved family members, so I always consider it an honor and a privilege to be trusted to care for our clients fur babies, and I feel that it is a very important and serious responsibility.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to care for many breeds of dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, birds, guinea pigs, and gerbils.

I am Pet CPR/First Aid certified through the Pro Pet Hero course.

I have been a pet owner my entire adult life. My husband and I rescued our dog Tucker 5 years ago. Our sweet pup is the farthest thing from a purebred. We had a DNA test done and there is no purebred in Tucker’s parents, grandparents or great grandparents. But he is the sweetest boy and the love of my life.

I look forward to caring for your pets with as much devotion as I give to our Tucker.
