As an Abington dog owner who is also an Abington pet sitter, I am always looking for fun things to do with my dog on the weekend. Well, this weekend does not disappoint, so I thought I would share what is happening right here in our neck of the woods.
Abington Health Schilling Campus in Willow Grove:
On Sunday, May 19th, from 10am until 1pm, you can take your dog/s to the 4th Annual Heel for Healing Dog Walk at the Abington Health Schilling Campus in Willow Grove. This event features a canine fashion show and contests that will award prizes for largest dog, smallest dog, cutest puppy over 6 months, best tail wagger, best dog trick, as well as dog/owner look alike. This event will happen rain or shine. Registration costs $15/leash in advance or $20/leash on the day of the event.
If you don’t mind traveling a bit further on Sunday, May 19th, you could take your dog to the 4th Annual Wag & Walk for Alzheimer’s in Warminster. You can bring your friendly dog out anytime from 9am until 2pm, register for $10 and take your dog on a scenic walk. Water stations will be provided. This is a rain or shine event as well, so let’s hope for beautiful weather for both events!
Remember to be a responsible dog owner and bring bags to pick up after your dog. You may also want to bring water for your dog, especially if it is going to be hot. Getting your dog out for a walk has so many health benefits for your dog’s body and mind.
