Background

In my previous life, I worked in many corporate positions. Everything from technical support to customer service and a senior admin assistant for a large department. All of these jobs have helped me become a better business person. Lets face it, being in the pet care industry isn’t just as simple as caring for your pet. We need to be customer service oriented as well. After spending my career in the corporate world only to be laid off twice within a short period of time, I decided to follow my passion. For as far back as I can remember we always had pets in our home including dogs, cats, fish, the occasional bird that our dog would bring home, guinea pigs, etc. I cannot remember a time in my life that didn’t include loving an animal. I worked part time in a boarding kennel and also a doggie day care. I began dog walking and pet sitting part time in 2000 and decided to make dog walking and pet sitting a full time career in late 2010.

Opportunities

Owning this business has afforded me great opportunities. I am a nature lover, so being outside instead of behind a desk on a regular basis is extremely enjoyable. It has also allowed me flexibility during the day which a lot of 8-5 ‘ers do not have. Of course it lets me indulge in my love for animals as well. I get to spend my day with all different types of pets. How great is that?

Volunteering in the Community

The majority of my personal time is spent volunteering for Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue (DVSHR) and Ruby the Lost Greyhound Search and Rescue Team. I have been blessed to be on the Board of Directors for Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue since the year 2011. I am also on the intake committee of DVSHR which means I help make decisions as to which dogs come into our rescue.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my friends and family and of course my four legged friends Misty and Ellie. I also enjoy reading, antique shops and of course anything animal related!

Training

I am CPR/First Aid Certified through Pet Tech. The Pet Tech Saver Program is an in depth 8 hour course that is recommended by veterinarians. In October of 2014, I will have the pleasure of being trained again by Thom Somes who is the founder of the Pet Tech program. I belong to many pet sitting groups including a group of national pet sitting business owners. It is great to know that I can continue to learn so much with the help of other colleagues. I also enjoy taking Pet Nutritional classes as well as learning as much as I can about natural and holistic treatment for pets.

Commitment

I want you to know that my aspiration is to be the best pet sitting business in our service area. We want you to feel like family. We are committed to providing excellent customer service and quality care. We strive to be extremely knowledgeable in the pet care field. If we cannot answer a question that you may have that pertains to your pet, we will always do our best to lead you to a professional that can answer those questions for you. Of course I think it goes without saying that we will care for your pets as if they were a member of our own family. My promise to you is that I will always do my best to make sure that you, our client, are satisfied with your pet sitter/dog walker and our service. I am only a phone call or email away! We want you and your pets to be happy and content.

It has been and continues to be a pleasure and is extremely rewarding to meet and spend time with all these wonderful pets! I’m so blessed to have met so many animals and their pet parents.

Ellie
